technical requirements:
These can also be defined as the concept store
“hardware”.
They include everything that must be present in a so called eco-sustainable store.
-
Environmental sustainable architecture, using ecological materials when possible, an accurate study of natural ventilation sources, thermal insulation and the use of environmentally sustainable energies to limit the eco-impact of the heating and air conditioning system.
-
Eco Design | Skills - No Excuse: an eco-responsible product design and implementation, respectful of the environment and of the people, with a special attention to the ones with disabilities as a step forward to equal opportunities.
-
Recycled and recyclable materials made furniture: we love design, but it has to be both functionally and environmentally sustainable. This requires our suppliers to adhere to precise standards in terms of raw materials and production techniques. For example, our suppliers of solid wood furniture, veneer or plywood must meet the minimum requirements for forestry.
-
Sole use of energy from renewable sources: solar thermal, photovoltaics, biomass and wind power to name those currently available on a market which is developing rapidly and with it the offer of more sustainable and efficient technologies.
-
Optimized sources of light: an optimal and efficient use of the existing sources of natural light and a proper use of eco-respectful artificial light such as the
CFL bulbs, can bring good results both in terms of design, functionality, energy saving and of ecological footprint.
-
Plastic? No thanks! Bioplastics that use vegetable components such as corn starch, and biodegradable polymers obtained from both raw materials from renewable raw materials of fossil origin are definitely our preferred choice. Products made of bioplastics can be directly disposed of into the waste wet fraction.
PRRI: Programma Riciclo Rifiuti Intelligente (Intelligent waste recycling program): to recycle and not just to separate. A collaborative network for truly recycling the separated waste in order to reduce the amount of material reaching the composting ground.
To choose an efficient recycling waste policy must not then be seen as a cost creating activity, but it is indeed generating benefits for the entire community and for the environment.
